I believe that God loved the world so much, he gave his only Son, that whoever loves and trusts him will not receive what they deserve but will receive eternal and everlasting life.
We deserve punishment because all of us have rebelled against God's wishes for us [1]. All of us (myself included) are selfish, arrogant, proud, self-seeking, plain disobedient, and the list could go on. Yet, in his mercy and love, God sent his Son not to condemn us as he could've done, but to save us [2].
When we ask him to save us, he gives us eternal life starting straight away, in all its fulness[3]. It is not just something you gain after death, but something which changes your whole life before death and forever.
I believe that all you or I need to do to attain eternal life is accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour[4].
